| MY 2005 YEAR IN REVIEW
JAUNARY:
It was January 20, 2005 when I wrote my first xanga post.
Back then I was working three part time jobs: Campus Life, Hope
Church, and a waiter at Lonestar. And I was still finishing up
school. I'm glad that is over.
I was looking at my faith in a whole new way; realizing the absurdity of God's love.
FEBRUARY:
We hit 26 people from East going on the ski trip--a new record. I finally got my U2 tickets to the Denver concert after much frustration. We had our first ever club at Chuck E. Cheese's. I danced all night with an amazing California girl at a wedding. I watched Shaun of the Dead at least 5 times this month.
The Valentine's Day club dance party was one of the funnest Campus Life clubs we've ever done. The last year of the State Wrestling Meet at Devaney was a blast all three days; Ryan, of course, won state. Danny and I moved into our current apartment.
MARCH:
Xanga was at it's height in popularity. Decoration was completed on my new super-stylish bathroom. The internet was full with the fat Dutch kid singing his song at his computer. I fell in love with the gospel music of Elvis Presley. We sprayed people with Axe at club and also dominated people with empty water bottles.
I humiliated Trey during our internet war of fake pictures. Then did the same to Jeff and Keenan. We had some great testimonies at club. I had some frustrations with church and eventually quit working for one. I morned the death of my pet.
APRIL:
April 2nd is the best day of the year; you all made my birthday awesome in Winter Park. Speaking of WP, the Ski Trip was amazing. Need I say more? Jenna and Courtney got on ESPN during the Nebraska baseball game. I became addicted to Fla-Vor-Ice. For the first time ever we had one club meeting at three locations in one night for CL.
The U2 concert in Denver where I was super close was probably my favorite memory of the whole year. The Oprah bus came to East and girls went into hysteria. I also landed my first real job; yep, full-time, salary, benefits...you know.
MAY:
Drew got kicked off of xanga and a mini-hold out was started to get him back. Oranjesta played at Campus Life House. I realized how often Christians give Christ a bad name. Common Jones played an acoustic show for our club. Becca turned into an ape. East Boys AND Girls won State Soccer.
I sustained several injuries around the time of the road trip to see the Cardinals play the Royals in Kansas City. The Fighting Manginas were formed! I ended the month by smashing my eprop record.
JUNE:
A test told me everything about myself. I realized that nerds can turn cool. I got to go to the College World Series and watch Florida
play. I hit 3 over-the-fence home runs in two softball
games. And the Manginas dominated co-ed soccer (even though we
didn't always win, we always looked the best). Most importantly,
I discovered "the spot" where the stars would be gazed upon for many
summer nights in '05.
JULY:
I began a summer relationship
(yes we met the first day of summer and broke up the first day of
fall). Had a white-trash 4th of July. We discovered the
Tyler Perry musical comedies--freaking hilarious. I read a great
book
about Bono and his faith. Danny and I turned out deck into a tropical island (no negative vibes). Went to the Better Than Ezra concert at the Anchor Inn, which was a GREAT show.
AUGUST:
I pretty much quit updating xanga. Spent most weeknights watching
Cardinals baseball games on our MLB package. Got a new
flat-screen TV and we now watch everything in High Definition; my life
has not been the same since. Went to Bohlke's cabin and
experienced probably the funniest moment of the year during a
"friendly" game of Wiffle Ball. Courtney met Bob Saget in
California; yes, THE Bob Saget.
SEPTEMBER:
Campus Life returned with a great kick-off/dance party. Over 70 East students showed up for the food fight.
Random Macarenas began. Went to a lot of East softball games and
watched Drew attempt to catch a foul ball time after time.
OCTOBER:
I threw a lot of flags on innapropriate situaitons at Worlds of Fun. Albert freaking Pujols hit the biggest clutch home run I've ever seen to force a Game 6 in the playoffs. Cardinals play their final game at Busch Stadium.
Vala's Pumpkin Patch screwed us with a short hay rack ride.
Halloween costume dance party rocked. Dressed up as Bryan Clark
for the Campus Life staff Halloween party.
NOVEMBER:
Brady spoke at Campus Life. Guys won Battle of the Sexes for the
third straight year. Got locked in the nature trail at Pioneer's
Park. Watched a lot of college football in HDTV. Had the worst day of the year. I unnecessarily drove half way to Omaha because I'm dumb. We sponsored Byukensenge from Rwanda. Went to Dave Matthews Band concert in Omaha.
DECEMBER:
Christmas Dance Party
with cheesey sweater competition. Went to the U2 concert in
Omaha. Campus Life staff Christmas party--hairy jock strap (if
you were there you know). Raising $160 in one hour by poorly
singing Christmas Carols. (GHC) reunited on Christmas Eve.
Christmas, obviously. Crashing parties on New Year's Eve and
eventually gaining the high score on Ms. Pac Man--beat that CP!
There you go. Another year of my life now history. Happy
New Year to everyone. Comment me and remind me of anything I left
out.

| Merry Christmas to all...
And to all a good night.

| First of all, East
Campus Life Gay Ol' Christmas Party is THIS MONDAY NIGHT. I mean
that not in a homosexual way at all...I mean that in a 'holiday cheer'
way; I think that goes without saying. We decorated the house for
hours and it looks SWEET. We are having a big holiday dance party
and it will be one of the funnest clubs of the year I think.
Monday Night; 7:30 - 9:30 PM @ The Campus Life House. Many are
wearing cheesy Christmas sweaters. You should be there, it will
be a blast!
So the Cardinals will look like a
real different team next year. They are losing a lot of their
players who have been with them as they had the best record in baseball
each of the past two seasons. And, so far, they have not gotten
anybody good yet this off season. The players who will NOT be
back with the Cardinals next year are:
Matt Morris
Mark Grudzielanek
Reggie Sanders
Larry Walker
Abraham Nunez
Cal Eldred
John Mabry
Julian Tavarez
Ray King
BUT...still a Cardinal, #99

SO TAGUCHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| It has been about a
week since the Dave Matthews concert in Omaha and I must be having
withdrawl because today I went out in the freezing cold and drove on
ice all the way across town to get the new live Dave CD, "Weekend on
the Rocks." It is two CDs and one DVD of his concert a couple
months ago at Red Rocks in Colorado (the best concert venue in the
country might I add!). Anyway the whole thing was only $14 at
Best Buy on sale and it is sweet! It includes a lot of songs he
played at the concert, plus many that he didnt (because in Omaha they
didnt play really ANY of my favorite DMB songs (#41, Too Much, Crash
Into Me, etc.) but they did at Red Rocks. But the concert in
Omaha was still amazing and, by the way, the new songs were WAY WAY WAY
better live than they are on the Stand Up CD, so that is really
good.
Also I purchased a program for my
computer that rips the audio from DVDs and converts them into high
quality MP3s. So now I can take all my live music DVDs (such as
the one I just bought) and convert them so that I can put them on my
iPod. Yes! Probably the best thing I've downloaded in the
past 4 years, no joke!!!
And U2 concert one week from this Thursday. The Quest Center is the best thing that ever happened to Nebraska.
